Power of God is with

I thought the following verses might be appropriate: -
'...The bolts of your gates will be iron and bronze, and your strength will equal your days.'
(Deu 33:25 NIV)
'...It is God who arms me with strength and makes my way perfect.'    (Psa 18:32 NIV)
'...My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion[1]
forever.'    (Psa 73:26 NIV)

'...For the foolishness of God is wiser than man's wisdom, and the weakness of God is
stronger than man's strength.'    (1 Cor 1:25 NIV)
'...I can do everything through him who gives me strength[1].    (Phil 4:13 NIV)

I've heard many Christians say something like 'if you don't attend church all the time then
you will become weak' and they will often quote '...Though one may be overpowered, two
can defend themselves. A cord of three strands is not quickly broken.'    (Eccl 4:12 NIV)
This O.T. human thinking is that there is strength in numbers, which is true enough; but in
the N.T. the Christian's strength is in Jesus Christ (Phil 4:13 NIV above.); not in numbers
but in one person. That's the theory anyway! Experience shows that we learn more of His
strength in our 'fights' alone than amongst God's people, where we tend to get sympathy
rather than just plain 'stick at it, it'll be worth it'.
