This is the power and the authority of the believer. You must have revelation. The bible says that my people perish for lacking spiritual knowledge or divine revelation
And indeed any leadership without vision leads to darkness. It can be hijacked and confused or even misdirected and maneuvered.
Every leadership, life or even a project with a vision succeeds. The vision makes the mission and a mission must have a seal or target. This target comes from the vision or revelation. Vision which entails’ the purpose is the measure of success.
“But what about you?” he asked. “Who do you say I am?” 16 Simon Peter answered, “You are the Messiah, the Son of the living God.” 17 Jesus replied, “Blessed are you, Simon son of Jonah, for this was not revealed to you by flesh and blood, but by my Father in heaven. 18 And I tell you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of Hades will not overcome it. 19 I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven; whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven.” 20 Then he ordered his disciples not to tell anyone that he was the Messiah. Revelation is the confirmation of choice, assignment and call by God upon you. You need revelation to make a difference, to make a change, and to break the old status quo.
Until peter received revelation, he was like other disciples but the revelation at the region of Caesarea Philippi. He was Simon and the shifting sand but revelation changed his name to Peter the Rock. It was from shifting sand to solid rock on which Christianity was planted and the gate of Hades won’t prevail ever.

”My people are being destroyed because they don’t know me. Since you priests refuse to know me, I refuse to recognize you as my priests. Since you have forgotten the laws of your God, I will forget to bless your children”. Hosea 4:6
When names change your countenances change too
Abram became Abrahams Name changed too when He received call or vision from God. Jacob became Israel and even. King soul became a prophet and Apostle Paul was called Saul. Do you remember? If you receive vision, you name will change and you countenances will be brighter too. It is this name change is you physical recognition and public declaration.
Until you have a vision you shall repeat the prejudice and the opinion of others. What others say shall be what you say.
