The word of God is an instruction

[Apostle GOC. Ogaraku]

“Every Scripture is God-breathed (given by His inspiration) and profitable for instruction, for reproof and conviction of sin, for correction of error and discipline in obedience, [and] for training in righteousness (in holy living, in conformity to God's will in thought, purpose, and action) So that the man of God may be complete and proficient, well fitted and thoroughly equipped for every good work”. 2 Timothy 3:16-17 (Amp)

      The word as instruction

Instruction means a green light and or green line to follow it is a way in a prevailing cultural instructions, precept and precision. The word of God is a direction or order to comply with. It is an order, an outline to follow squarely. If you buy a transistor radio, you get an instruction in form of manual of technical procedure

      The word as instruction as Reproof

Reproof is another word as to rebuke or reprimand. You can criticize you brother in a loving way using the bible, the word of God without creating any offensive or repellant situation. When criticized in love, it helps people to turn back from sinful way, change our ways and keep down from destructive way.

      Conviction of sin

Salvation is only possible when we recognize our sins and sincerely regret and feel heartbroken for committing such sins. The Spirit of the Lord gets our heart and mind to the point of regret and confession. It is only when we confess our sins that we are forgiven. “And when He comes, He will convict and convince the world and bring demonstration to it about sin and about righteousness (uprightness of heart and right standing with God) and about judgment” .John 16:8 (Amp)

      Correction of error

      Discipline in obedience

Discipline in obedience is another way to an accepted punishment, a total submission to the word of God. It is a humbling training that corrects, molds, or perfects the mental faculties or moral character. Control gained through lowly diligence by enforcing self obedience and controlled behavior self-control

      Training in righteousness

Training in righteousness is acting in accordance with the law, moral ethics and standard civilization. With divine or moral law, free from guilt or sin being morally justifiable in all ramifications or beyond all doubts.

      Complete and proficient

Well advanced in an art, occupation, or branch of knowledge

      Well fitted and thoroughly equipped

To be Well fitted and thoroughly equipped means being splendidly and impressively adorned with wisdom and knowledge, being completely and absolutely refined and schooled, fully qualified and highly gifted and anointed for doing good work.

      In holy living, in conformity to God's will in thought, purpose, and action)

After reading through these verses, you will realize that in every chapter and verse of the bible, knowledge and wisdom are abound. That’s why the bible says that the word is powerful.

There is power in the word. The potency of the word is comparable to that of a nuclear weapon or rather more because the nuclear weapon was created first by word. Therefore the word of God is greater than all creation and universe. “Sky and earth will pass away, but my words will not pass away” Matthew 24:35 (Amp) that’s why the lord taught that all other things shall pass away but the word of God will not because every other thing was created by the word.
